Awesome, as always! Love how you drew the uniforms. And by god, that gun is ugly. (Not in the sense that your bad, but the chauchat was a ugly weapon.)
lol thx for the comment and compliments man, yea ur right, it is an ugly awful weapon that is a stain on weapon history. john browning must have used that as a "what not to do" when designing the b.a.r
Oh, yeah! And not only is it ugly but it didn't work well.... AT ALL! It was as dangerous to use as the Lebel rifle when it was filled with spitzer rounds or the Ross rifle (at the least both o these could be used as clubs/spears!)
the one thing about the chauchat was it was really cheap apparently, which is why it was the most produced automatic weapon in ww1... i always found this really interesting because soldiers were using these alot. i know some soldiers put a cover over the magazines to keep dirt out, which seems like a relatively small procedure. i dont know how much this improved the weapon overall tho
Really? Then it explains why the French, the US and god knows who else used them then. Putting a cover over the mag seems a good idea to me and miight have reduced jamming.... But I hear the weapon mechanicaly weak, so... I dunno.(I mean, compared to the Berthier which was over-engeneered. Seriously, it was the AK of the time!)
Great picture as always!
And no problem!
