I'm Ukrainian. The war came to my country veiled in April and became open in summer. The best people of my country volunteered to protect their land from the Russian aggressors and are now dying some 200 km from my home town. I came across this wonderful drawing in the social network. It was used in the post about the tragic death of a Ukrainian soldier. It was accompanied by the inscription "The Earth has become one soul poorer. The heavens have become one star richer". I recognized it was the Great War in the picture and I wanted to thank the author on behalf of the Ukrainian patriots for the accuracy in expressing the emotions and for encouraging us by this image. Because war is always war and death is always death: these terrible notions have no time or space limits.

"No, madam-he did not die alone-he was surrounded by his comrades, and they all swore that they saw an angel take him up to heaven-after he'd died fighting to the last bullet, to the last drop of blood, to the last breath. I'd be proud to call him my son, madam."

My version of how the Sergeant answered the question the lad's mother asked.
